Ras el hanout is a spice blend that we know primarily from Arabic cuisines. The name literally translates as "the best of the store" and stands for the best the merchant has to offer at that time. As a result, the composition can vary from day to day and a ras el hanout always tastes different. Nevertheless, you often see some of the herbs and spices back in the mix.
